UK rock/electronic/hardcore/dubstep hybrid four-piece Enter Shikari came into being in their hometown of St Albans, Hertfordshire in 2003, though all members went to school together at some point and have been friends and in some form of band situation with each other since the age of 9. Influenced by the buzzing local hardcore and underground rock scene, Enter Shikari took to the road and never looked back, racking up nearly 500 shows before barely into their 20s, and building a rabid live following in the process.
Over the next few years, the band went on to release albums that quickly placed in the UK Top Ten. Sell-out headline tours across the world followed, and arena support shows with the likes of Linkin Park and the Prodigy helped pad out the diary.
Which brings us nicely to this year... 2010 has been an eventful year in the life of Enter Shikari. Four of twelve months will have been sent in North America... first as guests of A Day to Remember for six weeks, then for a successful month-long jaunt aboard the Vans Warped Tour, and finally for a six week headline tour through October/November. Not to mention a plethora of European festivals and numerous other tour stops around the world. Add to that a nomination for Best British Band at the Kerrang Awards, the recording of a new single, the filming of a possible live DVD, and the still to come UK arena tour in December as very special guests of 30 Seconds to Mars, and its pretty safe to say that 2010 hasn't exactly been a year of kicking back or thumb-twiddling.
